One Clear Vision attended Vision 2020’s UK 2010 Conference - "Sharing the challenge, making it happen" in Birmingham
It was a highly useful and enjoyable day. There were 100s of delegates from the charity, medical and private sectors as well as exhibitors. An opportunity to network and talk about our work and we'll be following up with new contacts.

We heard talks from:
- Dr Andrew Walker, Health Economist at Glasgow University – A case for strategic investment in eye care services
- Sarah Rochira and Pat Stevens: Implementing the UK Vision Strategy in Wales
- Prof Jan Keunen, VISION 2020 Netherlands: The European Perspective
- Lesley-Anne Alexander, CEO, RNIB: Review of key achievements in 2009
- Anita Lightstone, Programme Director UKVS: Going forward to achieve change
- And the key address was by Rt Hon David Blunkett MP

We also attended a seminar, 'Research – looking to a UK agenda?' Chaired by Richard Wormald, FRCOphth Consultant, Moorfields Eye Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the LSHTM and Institute of Ophthalmology. The seminar posed the question of whether Vision2020 can develop a meaningful agenda for research and invited contributions from those present. We are really excited by the opportunity to be involved in the formation of the agenda and to get our research questions on the radar.
