Medical students - information page

New research into safe and readily available treatments for Degenerative Vitreous Syndrome is a primary goal of One Clear Vision.

Developing knowledge in this area of ophthalmology can provide exciting opportunities for medical students or research students looking for a topical and relevant project that impacts directly upon a community of suffers whose voices are rarley heard by the medical profession at large.

Improved knowledge of the following areas would be of great benefit to us and any of the patient or professional communities that come into contact with severe and debilitating vitreous floaters.

  1. Visual disturbance and its impact upon quality of life and psychological health.
  2. The vitreous - its natural state and influences upon is composition and structure that can cause degeneration or formation of visually disturbing opacities.
  3. Vitrectomy and laser treatment for floaters - an updated version of the Delany, Oyinloye & Benjamin comparitive research study, to include assessment of the use of high shot power laser acheiving vapourisation of the vitreous material.
    1. The Delany, Oyinloye and Benjoam study can be found on our research page.

    2. Detailed information on high shot power laser treatment is available in the following book:  "Laser Treatment of Floaters" by Dr J Karickhoff, available via www.eyefloaters.com

One Clear Vision is currently developing relationships with key research and educational facilities, and we will actively engage with all interested parties who would like to participate in the above, or related, projects.
